60'sのシングルを中心にしてまとめられたベスト。60'sはシングル主導で動いていた時代で、ストーンズの活動を掴むには、アルバムよりもむしろこちらの2枚を押さえておいた方がいいと思う(アルバムは、R&Bのカヴァーを重ねてバンドとしての精度を上げながら、徐々にオリジナルにシフトしていくさまが伺える)。入門用としても、個人的には『Forty Licks』よりもこちらの2枚をお薦めしたい。『Through ～』のオリジナルジャケットは8角形で、ブライアン･ジョーンズに捧げられている。 |
