4枚組だがバンドのキャリアを総括したものではなく、ジョルジオ･ゴメルスキーがマネージャーをしていた頃の音源をまとめたもの。ここで紹介しているのは英国盤ボックスセットを更に日本で編集し、8曲の未発表曲を付加したものだ。Disc 1の冒頭6曲は、サニーボーイのバックを務めたステージの第2部でのヤードバーズ単独ライヴの音源。Disc 4はシングルのカップリングや別テイク、別バージョンを集約したもの。ベック＆ペイジのツインリード『Stroll On』までもがゴメルスキーの権利になってしまっているのが興味深い。ヤードバーズは、マネージャーに振り回され続けたバンドでもあった。 |
